St. Louis, Mo., Sept. 24, 2018 – Washington University in St. Louis had one student-athlete recognized as the University Athletic Association (UAA) Athlete of the Week for her respective sport in freshman Lydia Tsai of No. 8 women's golf, as announced by the association on Monday.
Tsai's UAA Golfer of the Week recognition marks the fourth consecutive week that the Bears have claimed the honor. Previously junior Samantha Haubenstock had won three straight awards.
WashU claimed a 311-339 victory over Division II Lindenwood University Saturday evening. The Bears were led by Tsai, who posted a season-low one-under par 71. With the victory, WashU has now won all four events this fall, including five straight rounds of golf.
