St. Louis, Mo., August 14, 2019 – The Washington University in St. Louis men's basketball team opens its 2019-20 season with an exhibition contest on Wednesday, Oct. 30, at Missouri State University. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. at JQH Arena in Springfield, Mo.
WashU returns four starters and 13 letterwinners from last year's squad, which won 10 of its last 12 games to finish with a 17-8 overall record. The Bears finished in second place in the University Athletic Association (UAA) standings, and secured its 35th-straight winning season. Second-year head coach Pat Juckem has a 216-161 (.573) overall record in 14 seasons as a collegiate head coach.
Missouri State returns three starters from last year's squad that posted a 16-16 overall record and tied for the third in the Missouri Valley Conference standings. The Bears lost four of their last five games of the season. Head coach Dana Ford enters his second season after serving four years as head coach at Tennessee State University.
WashU begins its 105th season of college basketball by traveling to Illinois College in its 2019-20 season opener on Sunday, Nov. 10. Tip-off is set for 3 p.m. in Jacksonville, Ill.
