No. 8 WashU Places Second at Dan Quayle Classic

Danville, Ind., Sept. 30, 2018 – The No. 8-ranked Washington University in St. Louis women's golf placed second overall at the Dan Quayle Collegiate Classic as three Bears earned All-Tournament honors in junior Samantha Haubenstock, freshman Alyssa Kim and senior Chloe DiPetrillo.

The Bears two-day total was 607 (300, 307), finishing eight strokes behind tournament host and No. 11-ranked DePauw University. DePauw had three separate "teams" entered in the tournament and placed first 599 (295, 304), third 639 (327, 312) and fifth 676 (340, 336). Indiana University East took fourth 661 (330, 331) and Spalding University was sixth 691 (348, 343).

Haubenstock placed second overall with a two day total of 146 (74, 72). During round two, the Weston, Fla.-native had a pair of birdies on the back nine as she shot one-under par in that nine hole stretch.

Kim took fourth overall with a 36-hole total of 152 (75, 77). She produced seven pars on the front nine and helped her cause with a birdie on the par-4 17th hole. DiPetrillo finished in fifth place, totaling 154 strokes (76, 78). She had a birdie on both the front-nine and back-nine.

Freshmen Julia Dai and Lydia Tsai both finished round two with eight-over par 80s. Dai tied for sixth-place overall with a two day score of 155 (75, 80), while Tsai was 18th overall with 162 strokes (82, 80).

Shooting individually from WashU was junior Emily Carnes, who placed eighth 156 (80, 76). Freshman Rachel Rhee ended the tournament tied for 20th with a 168 (86, 82), while senior Sabrina Ho was 28th with a 175 (88, 87).
