Women’s Golf Wins First Event Under Mary Swanson

New Bloomfield, Mo., Sept. 1, 2018 – The Washington University in St. Louis women's golf team celebrated head coach Mary Swanson's first victory of her career leading the Bears by defeating No.5-ranked NAIA William Woods University at the I-70 Dual Saturday evening.

The Bears starting lineup finished the Meadow Lake Acres Country Club 32 strokes over par, beating William Woods by 12 strokes. Junior Samantha Haubenstock captured the medalist honors by leading the field with a two-over par 74.

Senior Chloe DiPetrillo tied for third overall with a nine-over 81. Freshmen Julia Dai tied for sixth (82), Alyssa Kim tied for eight (83) and Rachel Rhee placed 13th (86) to round out the WashU lineup.

Individually senior Hanna Jia tied for third with an 81 as freshman Lydia Tsai (82), junior Emily Carnes (83), junior Angelica Harris (87) and senior Sabrina Ho (90) also competed for the Bears.
